Idaho Advantage is a financial cooperative, owned by our members. We’re owned by the people we serve, so you can always expect great service and terrific prices. We don’t pay stock dividends, we don’t have an expensive corporate structure, and our board of directors is made up of volunteers. Since we’re not-for-profit, our earnings are returned to you through great rates and lower fees.
We were chartered in 1938 to serve the needs of those employed in the telecommunications field. Since then, Idaho Advantage has been the chosen credit union for more than 125 local companies, serving more than 6,500 members and their families across Idaho and the United States. On March 8th, 2007, Idaho Advantage CU members voted to convert from a federally chartered credit union to a state chartered credit union. Beginning March 19th, 2007, anyone who lives, works, worships, or attends school in Ada or Canyon counties is eligible to join Idaho Advantage!
Membership begins when you open a Share Savings Account with a minimum deposit of only $5.00. As long as you keep this account open, you are a member for life—even if you move or change employers!
There are several ways to qualify for membership at Idaho Advantage CU. If you live, work, worship, or attend school in either Ada or Canyon counties, you are eligible to join. Also, relatives of current Idaho Advantage members are eligible. Our charter defines relative as: spouse, child, parent, sibling, grandparent, or grandchild. This also includes stepchildren, stepparents, stepsiblings, and adopted children. Additionally, if you live in the same household as an Idaho Advantage member, you are eligible for membership.
